A new report by Gaza Center for Human Rights condemns an armed militia — operating under Israeli military protection — for executing two Palestinian men east of Rafah. The victims, identified as Montaser Abu Samak and Mujahid Abu Susin, were killed after the militia announced what it called a “revolutionary sentence.”

According to the rights centre, the killings were carried out without any judicial process — constituting extrajudicial executions. The subsequent publication of graphic images of the victims’ bodies on social media demonstrates an intent to terrorize and intimidate civilians.

The statement notes that this is not the first time the same militia has released images of Palestinians it executed, underscoring a pattern of violence without accountability.

Given that the militia operates in a zone fully controlled by Israeli forces, the Gaza Center for Human Rights argues that responsibility for these crimes lies ultimately with the Israeli occupation. The killings — in violation of Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions — amount to war crimes under international humanitarian law.

The rights group calls for an immediate, independent international investigation and full accountability of all individuals — including militia members, commanders, and any external backers — and urges states to suspend any support that enables such militias.
