The Israeli authorities on Monday morning bulldozed a privately-owned Palestinian land in Silwan town, south of Occupied Jerusalem.
“Israeli municipality crews accompanied by a large police force stormed his land in al-Abbasiyya neighborhood and started to level large parts of it.” Khaled Al-Zir told Quds Press, mentioning that the Israeli authorities have repeatedly imposed high fines on him and attempted to seize his land.
Al-Zir also added that the Israeli authorities have further demolished several facilities he set up on his land under the pretext that they are unlicensed.
Israel's Nature and Antiquities authorities are seeking to take over the land, which covers an area of 16 dunums, and are planning to establish biblical gardens there.
