Israeli occupation forces kidnaps Palestinian at checkpoint in Jerusalem

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday evening kidnaped a Palestinian young passenger as he was trying to cross through the military checkpoint of Jaba, northeast of Jerusalem.

According to local sources, the detained young man is Mahmoud al-Lawzi from Qalandia refugee camp in east Jerusalem.

In a separate incident, the Israeli police on the same day summoned five Jerusalemite young men from Silwan district for interrogation. They were identified as Firas al-Atrash, Ahmed at-Taweel, Adnan al-Karki, Ibrahim Samreen and Ziyad Sharaf.

Meanwhile, the Israeli police started on Wednesday to close several roads and streets in Occupied Jerusalem and its old city one day before organizing a marathon.

Israeli sports events in east Jerusalem are believed to be aimed at marketing the occupied holy city as the eternal capital of the occupation state.
