Guatemala is one of seven nations that voted against a UN resolution calling on the United States to withdraw its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
The President of Guatemala, Morales, decided to move his embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, following the decision of US President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the Israeli entity and the transfer of the embassy of his country.
